"Swatting" Victim Sends Emotional Video Message To Culprit

It's just wonderful that the gaming community can't stop acting like children.

If you're not familiar, "swatting" involves someone sending a fake distress call to the police, directing them toward the home of someone they wish to prank. SWAT then shows up and puts innocent people in a dangerous situation.

Just ask Twitch streamer Joshua Peters, who recently aired an emotional message for the anonymous moron who called a SWAT team down on Peters' St. Cloud, Minnesota home. Peters, a member of the U.S. Air Force, breaks down in tears on camera after explaining how SWAT forced their way into his home while he was playing Runescape:

"I had police point a gun at my little brothers because of you. They could have been shot, they could have died because you chose to SWAT my stream.

I don't give a shit about what you have against me, or what I did to you. For that, I am at a loss for words. Your gripe is with me so let it be with me and do not involve my family in any way, shape or form with this. They don't deserve that."

Yeah, reason #8954 why I have zero interest in playing with others or letting others see me play online. My privacy is invaded plenty on a daily basis, thank you; I don't need the freaks and losers of the earth invading my leisure time, too.

it's near impossible to track these calls. These people doing it block their IP and mac address and call from programs on their computer. it's pretty messed up.

This is messed up stuff that anyone could think of doing that. There's always that possibility someone can get killed. On another note, the police are almost as guilty for not fully assessing the situation. I understand there's a huge possibility of a threat and they can't take chances, but you would think they'd do a bit of research before kicking a door in. I'd be surprised if there weren't a few lawsuits in these swatting incidents.

This kind of stuff just sickens me. It may be all fun and games for the person doing the swatting, but people can be seriously hurt or even killed because of these false reports.

Really sad that part of the gaming community has degraded to this.

Some people just wanna watch the world burn.
Well, until they accidentally burn themselves then they'll stop burning.
Keep doing what you're doing fools, just know that karma's a b****.
That aside, I don't get what you mean with "It's just wonderful that the gaming community can't stop acting like children."

Anyone could have done this Ben, not just gamer.
