Spark Unlimited Done Making Games
Well, here's the thing: This is a hugely competitive industry. Your only hope is to put out top-quality products and even that is no guarantee of success.
And if you fall shy in terms of quality, then you're really in trouble. Just ask Spark Unlimited.
A NeoGAF member found out that the developer's office equipment was up for auction, and wanted to know what the deal was. Spark Unlimited CTO John Butrovich then confirmed to Polygon: "It's the end of Spark as a game developer," he said. All the employees have been laid off and all current projects are now canceled. And that's just too bad.
The team's titles included Lost Planet 3 and Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z, along with a few other less-than-impressive games. It's unfortunate but again, this is an extremely competitive business.
