Ridge Racer 7 In Development

Japanese magazine Famitsu has a brief interview in the latest issue discussing Namco's plans to bring the Ridge Racer franchise to Sony's forthcoming PlayStation 3 console.

Director Masaya Kobayashi says that the new game, currently titled Ridge Racer 7, will pick up where the most recent installment left off. New features will include team-based online multiplayer and the ability to customize and repaint cars.

No other details have been mentioned, but we've been told that Namco will be showing off a playable preview of the game at next month's Electronic Entertainment Expo.
