PlayStation Premier: Metal Gear Online Announced
The PlayStation Premier event in Tokyo is yielding plenty of great news, and the latest update was revealed by Famitsu.com. Apparently, during a demo play session of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Hideo Kojima announced that his team was creating a PS3 version of Metal Gear Online. This is the online battle game that was included in Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence.
Furthermore, the site says Kojima will actually play the game live at next week's Metal Gear 20th Anniversary Party (also in Tokyo), and at that time, he will provide more details on the project. We're not sure if this will be a standalone Blu-Ray release, or if Kojima is planning this exclusively as a Network download, but either way, we'll find out more next week.
Metal Gear fans, we know you loved your online play in MGS 3, and you probably didn't like it when Konami took down the servers. But hey, it's not over yet!
