GC 2007: PS3, PSP Games On Display (UPDATED)
Updated: Those new PSPs will be available on September 5 for the price of EUR 169 (£130 in UK). There will also be two limited edition bundles as well: one is a Spider-Man bundle that features a slick red and black PSP and comes with Spider-Man 2 (game) and "Spider-Man 3" (movie); the other is the Simpsons bundle, which boasts a pretty yellow PSP and a copy of The Simpsons Game.
Throughout the Sony press conference - still going on even as I type this - they've been showing off all kinds of upcoming games, as expected. There have been new trailers, previews, and gameplay videos for the likes of Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, Devil May Cry 4, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Lair, Heavenly Sword, Folklore, Warhawk, and The Eye of Judgment. There has also been information regarding SingStar for the PS3 (although nothing we didn't know before, apparently), and the announcement of a new Buzz! title for the PS3 as well. If you didn't know, it's an insanely popular quiz show game that Euro gamers just love to death.
Sony has also showed off Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, and said we can expect to see it "Christmas 2007," which would put it at the one-year anniversary of Gran Turismo HD Concept. The game will allow 16 players to race against each other online, it will boast 50 cars and 5 tracks, and it will also support full 1080p HD resolution. Sony's David Reeves considers it to be the "perfect game" for future downloadable content, which is a sentiment we had heard before, but it's still good to hear. Oh, and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots was also talked about, and we're hoping to see that new trailer very soon...when we have it, we'll post it up ASAP.
Up next- the PSP games, starting with the likes of Echochrome and Wipeout Pulse and moving on to Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow, Pursuit Force, and the hotly anticipated God of War: Chains of Olympus. As for the new PSP Slim and Lite handhelds, they were just introduced to the crowd a few minutes ago, and they're saying Euro gamers will be able to nab them this September. Your choice of silver, black, or white models, too!
That's all for now, stay tuned for more from Sony's press conference at the GC 2007.
