Konami Delays MGS4 Until Q2 2008
It's not a press release we wanted to see, but at least we know the rumors about possibly seeing this massive title in 2007 can be put to rest.
Konami announced today that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, the exclusive PS3 title that everybody can't stop talking about, has been delayed until the second quarter of 2008. Initially, the publisher had planned to release the game some time during the winter, which would place it in the first quarter of next year, but that can't happen now. Of course, whenever this happens, all those nosy gamers want to know one thing- why? It's a simple answer, actually, and we'll let the official statement do the talking.
"Konami has decided to delay the title's release in order to make further improvements to the quality of the game and provide even greater enjoyment for more customers worldwide. Konami will continue its efforts to make "Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots" meet everyone's expectations.
So there's your explanation, although you were probably hoping for specific details. And while we're a bit disappointed, we definitely want to make sure that Konami gets it right; MGS4 is one title that absolutely cannot be rushed. Take your time and get it right, guys! We understand.
