The Orange Box Confirmed For December 14 In Europe

All we need now is a North American confirmation, and we're all kinds of happy.

The rumors have been swirling regarding the PS3 version of Valve's The Orange Box, and recently, none of them have been good news for owners of Sony's next-gen console. Initially expected to release alongside the Xbox 360 and PC versions in October, the PS3 version has faced several delays and had even slipped into 2008, according to some sources. Neither EA or Valve would issue a sold release date for the game in either the U.S. or Europe, so things have been very...vague, lately. But no more- EA has finally announced a European release date for The Orange Box, and you'll be happy to hear it'll hit store shelves in time for Christmas.

EA has confirmed with Eurogamer that it's scheduled to arrive on December 14, which gives shoppers nearly two weeks to pick it up as a Christmas gift. Earlier this week, an EA spokesperson had supposedly confirmed with Eurogamer that The Orange Box would arrive in December, but at the time, he didn't say when. Now, this is what we like to call "officially official," so no more rumors, rumor-mongers! Unfortunately, still no word on when to expect the game here in the U.S.
