Shivering Isles Hits PS Store On November 29

It appears the controversy and debate can finally come to an end: PS3 players who are still loving Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion but didn't buy the Game of the Year Edition will finally be able to play that Shivering Isles expansion pack. You can either pick up the retail disc, which just shipped, or you can download it via the PlayStation Store. We weren't sure if this was going to happen, but the Store release date is official according to Bethesda: November 29.

This expansion pack is now available at retailers throughout North America as a standard disc, but the download will be another option for consumers. We're not yet sure how much it will cost, but November 29 is right around the corner...we'll find out soon enough. However, it seems the download will only pop up on the North American Store; it seems it will not arrive for the European or Japanese Store. This is one hefty expansion, too- it features over 30 hours of extra play time, and that includes new quests, monsters, and what they're calling "expanded freeform gameplay."

We're hoping this means we'll see more downloadable Oblivion content on the Store in the future, but for now, we're happy with Shivering Isles.
