PS3 News: Burnout Paradise Dated For Europe

Burnout Paradise Dated For Europe

All European gamers may issue a sigh of relief: one of the most anticipated racers of 2008 will arrive in your region at just about the same time as it'll hit North American shelves.

According to Eurogamer, EA says Burnout Paradise will release on January 25 in Europe, which is only three short days after it's scheduled to release in the US for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Both regions should be seeing playable demos some time this month, too. Paradise is apparently trying to reinvent the genre, as we will be driving around a mostly open environment this time, triggering races by stopping at streetlights. Basically, you take on events whenever you wish; the rest of the time, you can zoom about like you're playing GTA with cooler cars. Multiplayer looks awesome as well, simply because you can invite friends into the map and have them drive around with you. Want to race? Coordinate and get to a starting point.

It's an ambitious idea, to be sure, and we hope the franchise maintains it's super-high level of quality. But the point is, both North American and European gamers will be able to find out for themselves at roughly the same time.
