PS3 News: Guitar Hero III Update Now Available

Guitar Hero III Update Now Available

Well, we have no idea what's going to happen in regards to the guitar compatibility fiasco, but we do know that Neversoft and Activision/RedOctane have released a new Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock update for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Announced over at the official Guitar Hero site, this update is now live worldwide for Xbox 360 owners and available in North America for PS3 owners. The PS3 European and Australian update "has been submitted to Sony," and they'll let us know when PAL gamers can expect the update. If you're interested, we strongly suggest you log on to either the PlayStation Network (again, if you're in North America) or the Live Marketplace and pick this bad boy up. Here's what's included in the update-

Improve Online Quick Match results and reduce "Failed to Connect to Server" messages.

Introduce calibration screen improvements, helping users with high lag AV systems, and Playstation 3 users with Dolby Digital enabled.

Add the Co-Op Quickplay mode for Playstation 3 users.

Enable the Hyperspeed cheat to work in online games.

Include various stability improvements and fixes.

The post also says they'll be looking for feedback on the update and the game in general, which means - at the very least - Neversoft and Activision are listening to their fans. Now, all they need to do is resolve that little guitar compatibility tiff between Guitar Hero III and Rock Band, and everything will be just fine. Right?
