No Uncharted DLC, But Home Integration Possible
It wasn't long ago when online functionality for a game was a novelty; an alternate and even exotic luxury that we rarely saw. However, these days, it's becoming almost a requirement for next-generation titles, even though some developers simply don't aim to stock the PlayStation Store or Live Marketplace with a horde of downloadable content.
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is one of the finest single-player experiences of 2007, there's no doubt about it. Therefore, it doesn't necessarily need any DLC, even though all you online hounds were probably begging for it. But according to a recent interview Naughty Dog's Evan Wells gave to D+PAD magazine, the team has no plans to issue any extra content for the great action/adventure game. However, at the same time, he's not discounting the many possibilities PlayStation Home may afford when it's launched in the spring, so perhaps something will happen there.
"We aren't planning any downloadable content for Uncharted, but we are planning to take advantage of whatever kind of integration into Home is possible," said Wells.
It will certainly be interesting to see how many developers embrace PlayStation Home when it's released, and it's good to hear Naughty Dog is on board. No, we may not be getting downloadable content for Uncharted, but that doesn't mean future online stuff is completely out of the question. So take heart, Internet lovers.
