Rush, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Black Crowes For Rock Band

Harmonix continues to pump out the additional downloadable content for Rock Band in the form of great new songs arriving on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace. This is good news for those of you who scored the multiplayer music blockbuster for the holidays.

The latest batch consists of a couple covers and one original song from three bands you're definitely familiar with. Just bear in mind that after a brief holiday sale on the Marketplace, extra songs have returned to the customary 160 Microsoft Points ($2). For PlayStation Network users, these songs will hit tomorrow, along with a few others that are already on the Marketplace. Here are the three latest for all you virtual rockers out there-

  • Gimme Three Steps - Lynyrd Skynyrd
  • Hard to Handle - Black Crowes (Cover)
  • Limelight - Rush (Cover)

Lynyrd Skynyrd is a rock legend (pretty damn big in the '70s), Rush is one of the most memorable early '80s groups, and some of the younger fans will remember the Black Crowes from the '90s. Their cover of the Grateful Dead's "Hard to Handle" isn't bad, actually, and all three of these new tracks - as usual - will cater to a wide variety of music tastes. Get ready to pick 'em up!
