Free Radical: Haze Delay "Best Possible Thing For The Game"
The saga of the Haze delay fiasco continues, but this time, we have a comment from one of the Free Radical team members. Unfortunately, he doesn't provide us with a new release date - we already have about 17 different ones, none of which are likely to be accurate - but he does offer up an explanation. Recently posted in the Blogs over at Free Radical's official site, here's what he had to say about the delay and why it's not necessarily the end of the world-
"Soooo, Haze is delayed. But you already know that, don't you. Well, the simple fact of the matter is, any delay on a game is a good thing - it's more time to optimize and polish and tweak and generally improve the whole damn thing to the Nth degree. Now, I know that some of you patient folks out there will be bitterly disappointed. Some of you may even want to come to my house and smash a colostomy bag over my head, and I think most people would understand that sentiment, but believe when I say that the delay is the best possible thing for the game. Hell, the reason why you guys are so pumped about it is because you have high expectations, and we need just a little more time to make sure that we meet them. So in conclusion, rest easy - we're still slugging away on this badboy."
We're pretty sure he meant to say "some of you impatient folks out there will be bitterly disappointed," but whatever. We get the gist. Basically, there's no way we're going to see Haze in January (as some sources still claim), and the August release date Ubisoft had listed on their site seems far more realistic. But we understand the sentiment: with higher expectations comes more pressure to deliver, and if they need more time to meet those expectations and alleviate the pressure, so be it. We just want an awesome game.
