50+ Unreal Tournament III Mods For PS3
Unreal Tournament IIIEver since the PlayStation mods for Unreal Tournament III started to flow in December, multiplayer fans have been able to revel in the creative ability of gaming designers everywhere. With the options Epic has afforded the player, just about anyone can design a new map, and as of now there are over 50 user-generated ones to choose from!
If you visit UT3Mod.com, you'll notice there are 40 Deathmatch, 11 Capture the Flag and 4 Vehicle Capture the Flag maps, and if you toss in the one Warfare map, that means there are a grand total of 56 original maps to select from. Right from the start, Epic was saying they decided to go with the PS3 because of the freedom the PlayStation Network gave them, and as we all know, Epic is big on mods for UT. They knew they'd be able to put plenty of development tools directly in the hands of the gamer, and they could do it with the PlayStation 3. Now, only a month and a half later, the popularity of the game, combined with the skill of the gamer turned amateur developer, has spawned a ton of unique maps. Plus, there are new game types and mutators, so the fun doesn't just end at map creation!
Let's face it- UT was always made for multiplayer, so quite simply, the more maps we have, the better. And obviously, it's not going to stop here. Heck, maybe at some point, you'll be able to play on a different map in UT3 every day of the year!
