Surfer Girl GDC 2008 Rumors Abound

Well, Surfer Girl got a little carried away with her latest predictions, but they were quickly retracted. At first, the popular rumor-starting site said we could expect to see Killzone 2, Gears of War 2, MotorStorm 2, Too Human, InFamous and Alan Wake at the Game Developers Conference this month. The rumor also said we "might" see Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, WipeOut HD and SOCOM PS3.

However, some of that has since been retracted, and the clarified rumors explain the following- to start, we really should see the finalized Final Fantasy XIII engine (the White Engine), which will be on display in tutorial form. We'll also get to see Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Far Cry 2 and the destructible environment in Mercenaries 2: World in Flames. Speaking of engines, the developers should present a walkthrough of the Frostbite engine we'll find in Battlefield: Bad Company, which ought to be fairly interesting. Lastly but perhaps most exciting is the chance that we'll get a glimpse of the first live footage of Resistance 2, which we've been hearing about for a few days now. Insomniac might be ready!

In addition, there is a chance that "three big announcements" are coming for Fable 2, plus new footage from PlayStation Home. Here's hoping Sony will be prepared to provide a concrete release date for Home!
