Jaffe To Deliver Keynote For Game Career Seminar At GDC

The Game Developers Conference isn't far off, and it seems one of our favorite video game designers will be presenting an important keynote speech at the event. David Jaffe, responsible for the highly esteemed God of War franchise and founder of the new Eat Sleep Play studio, will keynote the Game Career Seminar. The title is pretty self-explanatory; he'll be talking about how best to pursue a career in the industry.

The title of his speech is "From Grunt to 'God' To Startup: Career Lessons from the Edge of Game Development." Jaffe will talk about his own career path and give attendees a chance to learn about something many kids and teens only dream of- nailing a job working in the industry they've come to love. Obviously, Jaffe is the perfect choice for this speech, as he has risen through the ranks with Sony and is now on his own as an independent game developer. Eat Sleep Play may have a slightly different focus than the Santa Monica team Jaffe was part of with Sony, but that just means more original stuff from a very talented individual.

“By launching two blockbuster franchises and then going indie, Jaffe has a wealth of insights on how to advance your career in the game industry,” said Jamil Moledina, Executive Director of GDC, “Given his outspoken views on game design, attendees can expect nothing less than the unvarnished truth behind career development both inside and outside the traditional development landscape.”

If you have a chance to attend this seminar, you will also be able to meet some HR executives from various game companies and "network with industry professionals." You can also expect a great talk from Jaffe; this is one guy who knows what he's talking about.
