Euro CoD4 Connectivity Patch Tomorrow?
One of the biggest allures of playing video games online is the ability to play with anyone, anywhere, anytime. However, with region restrictions and regulations and rules and all that stuff, we're sometimes limited to playing gamers specifically located in our country or hemisphere. This is an issue when it comes to something as popular as Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, but it seems Infinity Ward is very close to fixing it completely.
Back in December, North American gamers received a connectivity patch for the game, which allowed them to step beyond the boundaries of this hemisphere and play gamers from anywhere. However, they couldn't do this with European players simply because they have not yet received the same patch. But if the latest rumor straight from the Infinity Ward forums is accurate, the day will soon come when UK and US players can square off against each other...and that day could very well be tomorrow. Here's the post in question-
"I have great news as rumor has it from SCEE today that the EU Connectivity patch has passed certification, and while I can't speak for them (as it's up to them to release it), word has it that they may be releasing it to users for download as soon as this Friday (8th)!"
As Infinity Ward hasn't issued anything official regarding this patch, and there's no listing of a source, all we can do is write this up as a rumor. Still, it does seem very possible, because we knew the developer had this planned for a while (they weren't about to leave Euro gamers out in the cold). But it could it really arrive tomorrow? Well, looks like we'll just have to wait and see.
