Max Payne Movie To Start Filming Soon
This is one game-to-film adaptation that has plenty of potential, and with the right amount of effort, it might actually be worth seeing (Uwe Boll isn't directing, so don't worry).
We knew they were planning a movie based on Max Payne, and now, according to IGN and ProductionCharts.com, it seems they will start filming very soon. Everything officially gets underway on March 2 in Toronto, Canada, and the schedule has them finishing the shoot on May 9. Academy Award-nominated actor Mark Wahlberg is slated to star as the dark and troubled action hero, which makes perfect sense to us. He did just do a movie called "Shooter," after all, and he should have just the right look to pull off this role. John Moore ("Behind Enemy Lines," "Flight of the Phoenix") will take the directing reigns and Beau Thorne wrote the script. We don't know if that script will be based exactly on the game(s), though, so that's something we'll have to find out as time goes on.
For now, let's just hope we won't get another "Hitman," "Resident Evil," or any other of the legion of horrid movies based on video games. Max Payne is just too cool; please don't screw this up!

And yes, the Max Payne games did have solid stories. That's why I'm hoping this movie won't be too bad.

P.S Hitman was a decent movie. The character of 47 had too much emotion for that skanky chick. But you are right about the Resi movies. Wat a load of trash they were.
