Rumor: Ace Combat 6 Winging Onto PS3?
Ace Combat 6Some flight fans were confused to learn that the latest installment in the revered Ace Combat franchise wouldn't be coming to a Sony platform. Every single prior entry had, but Ace Combat 6 is only exclusive to the Xbox 360. Why, we're not entirely sure, but Namco may be rectifying the situation shortly.
According to something N4G noticed in PSM3 magazine's latest feature, "2008: Year of the PS3," it seems very possible that AC6 will be making it's way to the PlayStation 3 at some point in the near future. Here's what the article said-
"Japan's favourite dogfighting series returns with a new made-up war, a brace of superweapons, online co-op and a custom controller for the superfans."
Well, if 2008 is indeed the "year of the PS3," it would certainly help if Ace Combat 6 got added to the system's growing library of must-have titles. There's no official word on this, of course, but it does seem very likely that Namco would be interested in giving the PS3 a series made popular on its predecessors. We'll keep an eye on this and see what happens.

Now to follow my own advice ill talk about the story. Ace Combat is one of my favorite series in all of video games. I just love it. This was one of the only 360 exclusives that made me jealous.(The others being Gears, Bioshock, and Mass Effect.) I don't understand why the original exclusivity decision was made and I won't try to. I'm not happy about it but, late is always better than never for great games. Now just hurry it up Namco. :) Please.

You won't be seeing any pro-Sony bias in our news reporting or reviews. We are a legitimate gaming site and will continue to be. Just wanted to clear that up. :)

Though I doubt we'll be seeing any iDolM@ster custom paint jobs. I hope they throw in some extra missions planes and to not make a mandatory HDD install.

i love Ace Combat, but Namco made a huge error imo.
why bite the hand that feeds? if it wasnt for Playstation (as a brand) would the Ace Combat name be worth much these days? so why was the project canned very early on in its development? because i have a feeling it was meant to come out for the PS3, then suddenly it wasnt. Namco dont or have never shown problems in writing for the PS3, so why axe a game that will sell so many copies?
There are no other decent flying games like Ace Combat on the PS3, they would of raked it in, but now we have to choose between a decent game like Cod4 etc etc.. for Ace combat.
Where you cant help thinking that if they had released Ace Combat6 early on in the PS3 life, everyone would of brought it, because there wasnt 'that' much choice back then.
We seem to be spoilt for choice now, so considering that i would rather a game made for the PS3 rather than some port that i can afford to miss because of all the great titles that are out and coming out in 2008.

If it makes you feel any better, obviously, most everyone here does enjoy PlayStation products, including myself. We're just not about to dump on Microsoft or Nintendo because of that reason. You're always welcome to post, and you're certainly welcome to keep reading. I think we're just a little sensitive about being branded a "fanboy" site, that's all.
