Capcom On Resident Evil 5: "Oh My God!"
Resident Evil 5Resident Evil 4 was easily the best in the series since RE2 back on the PS1, and we've heard nothing but good things about the next-gen Resident Evil 5. However, is the game looking even better than we dare to hope? Capcom seems to think so.
According to CVG, Major Nelson recently conducted an interview with Capcom's senior director of communications and community Chris Kramer, and he was all kinds of excited about RE5. In fact, he claims we're all gonna "flip out" when we finally get a chance to see the game in action.
"Just being able to see Resident Evil 5 running, I'm like 'Oh my god!' Honestly, when we start showing more of that, when we start letting people go hands-on with that, people are going to flip out. That game to me is super exciting."
Kramer was talking about how he had just returned from a trip to Japan, where he met with producers to chat about titles that were being prepared for the next two years. Of course, this prompted immediate speculation on the release date for RE5, but despite one quote that could easily be taken out of context, it seems the blockbuster title is still "TBA." Here's the quote, though, because we know you're interested-
"We have a really fantastic year ahead of us, a year that's going to include games like... Resident Evil 5..."
Yeah, well, that probably just means we're going to hear more about the game in 2008; it doesn't necessarily say Resident Evil 5 will actually become available on store shelves this year. Perhaps a few hands-on reports will surface thanks to an early build of the game, and if that happens...are we going to "flip out," or what? We'll be taking your words at face value, Capcom!
