Warhawk Patch To Feature PS Home Integration
What does PlayStation Home have to do with Warhawk? Well, plenty, if you look closely at the upcoming v1.3 game update for the addictive online flight/action title.
According to Ripten and Warhawk game creator Dylan Jobe, v1.3 will bring along several enhancements, including Home integration. ...oh really? Yep, Jobe says we'll be able to form groups, meet up in Home apartments and other "Home spaces," chat about strategy and even launch a game from within the online communication service. We've heard this would be one of the big draws of Home, as Sony revealed at last year's E3. Jobe spoke more about the possibilities between his brainchild and Home, although it's fairly obvious he can't speak about anything official just yet.
"Now this is just the beginning of what we’re gonna to be doing with HOME and there’s some really neat stuff on the horizon. I’d love to show you more of the cool HOME stuff that we’re working on but I suspect I’d get a PR-shank to the spine…or possibly a lung.
So I gotta say that I’m actually super relieved that we’re putting in *REAL* legit value for players and *NOT* making HOME a portal for SONY to jam branding and marketing schwag down player’s throats!
As a gamer, I’m excited *and* relieved to see the direction HOME is taking.
Now, all of this is great news, but perhaps most intriguing of all is the fact that since this patch has been in testing for a while, it can't be that far off. In turn, does this mean we can expect PlayStation Home to arrive not long after? We can't wait to hear more about this; let's hope Jobe provides more info, and Sony is willing to release an actual Home launch date. Soon.
