First Tracks For GTAIV Revealed?
We've already seen plenty of news concerning the biggest games of 2008, but Rockstar and the rest of the Grand Theft Auto IV camp has been mysteriously quiet lately. After issuing the official release date - April 29 - we've really heard nothing new. However, one interesting tidbit popped up yesterday, and it involves the game's soundtrack.
This has always been a crucial aspect of all the GTA games since Grand Theft Auto III, as the radio stations you hear when driving around in vehicles are both realistic-sounding and diverse. They also reflect the time period, so we got a horde of awesome '80s hits when tooling around in Vice City and a bunch of '90s chart-toppers with San Andreas. But the fourth GTA entry is supposed to be set in modern day, so we should have modern day artists and songs. Therefore, this rumored list of 16 tracks does seem plausible. Here it is, courtesy of Akayuki.com-
- Angel y Khris - Ven Bailalo
- R Kelly - Bump N Grind
- Seryoga - KingRing
- The Boggs - Arm In Arm
- UNKLE (feat. Josh Homme) - Restless
- Gwen Stefani - Hollaback Girl
- Res - They Say Vision
- Raheem Devaughn - You
- Junior Kickstart - The Go! Team
- VHS or Beta - Burn It All Down
- Humble Pie - Cocaine
- Fat Joe - Shit Is Real
- MOP - How About Some Hardcore
- MOP - Downtown Swinger
- Queen - One Vision
- Ne-Yo - Because of You
None of these have been officially confirmed, but we'd like to think the list is accurate. As soon as Rockstar issues a clarification, though, we'll be sure to let you know. And let's hope this soundtrack ends up being just as awesome as the last ones have been!

I have faith the music will be awesome, its GTA's trademark. I hope they wont focus too heavily on having 'your own' station via your HDD's music. I'm not interested in what I have.. that just wont feel like GTA to me. I look forward to hearing what the developers have done, its makes that game.
Also with the power of the internet and the magic of online, I hope we get updated radio shows as time goes on, although I love the talk radio and most of the stations, after many months of pluggin away at GTA, you would like something a little more fresh.
At least they can do it now. I would also like to think there will be regular updates, but i may be wishing for too much there.
