New Ninja Theory Project At GDC 2008?

Last year, developer Ninja Studio treated PS3 owners to one of the first top-notch titles for the system, and Heavenly Sword ended up bringing home our Best Acting award for 2007. It remains one of our favorite PS3 experiences to date, so of course we'll be excited to hear about Ninja Theory's next project.

Well, if you check out the developer's official site, you'll notice a banner depicting a destroyed city with a distinct futuristic atmosphere. We don't know what this is, and we're wondering if it's a new game set to be unveiled during this week's Game Developers Conference. There's no official word on this, but Ninja Theory's statement on their site is as follows:

"Right now we're working on an exciting new concept that has got everyone we talk to buzzing. We can't say a lot except that it's going to be great to work on and should be even better to play! It'll take all the things we loved about Heavenly Sword and make them bigger and better than ever before."

Heavenly Sword was excellent, but there are ways to improve upon that foundation. Even if Ninja Theory's new project won't be revealed this week, we'll definitely keep an eye out for more info and details.

I hope the new game isn't as short as Heavenly Sword. I think it was a record for me!
