Street Fighter Movie Cast Confirmed
Okay, so the last Street Fighter movie was downright atrocious. But that doesn't mean they shouldn't try again, right? Oh, stop being all insulting; there's always hope, especially if you can nail down the right cast.
Variety has revealed more cast members for the upcoming action movie, in addition to confirming previously announced members. The full update is as follows- Smallville's super-cute Kristin Kreuk will play Chun Li, American Pie's Chris Klein Will play Nash/Charlie, Rick Yune from The Fast and the Furious will play Gen, and the deep-voiced Michael Clarke Duncan has signed on to play Balrog. Thus far, the plot has not come to light, but we do know the story will focus on Chun Li and the movie is being directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak (Doom). Justin Marks (Voltron) will handle the script, and the film should begin shooting some time next month.
We're looking at this from a positive angle. It can't possibly be as bad as the first Street Fighter movie, right? At the very least, we should expect better choreographed fight scenes, and that cast is more than qualified to deliver better acting performances. So let's just cross our fingers and hope this film won't be a complete disaster.

The only way to acheive great choreographed martial arts scenes is to use real martial artists from Hong Kong with expert Hong Kong choreography martial artists. They can't do this in Hollywood and thats why movies like Dead or Alive, Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat flopp. I must admit some of the actors used in Mortal Kombat were martial artist that created good fight scenes, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Shang-Tsung and Lui Kang. But it's always obvious who can do martial arts and who cannot. With those who cannot you not only can tell by their movement and technical ability to do a kick but the way you see 50 camera angles for a 30 sec fight scene. Because the actors can only do a move at a time, wheras you watch a proper martial art movie they do amazing continuous moves with one camera shot.
Its best to watch the Animated Street Fighter movie and there is Street Fighter Alpha too, for the ones that don't know, and watch some Hong Kong martial arts movie.
