Sony Stays Quiet On Home, In-Game XMB
Rumors, rumors, rumors. They fly through the air with the greatest of ease, latching on to any eager ear and perhaps infecting innocent minds with possibilities that may or may not come to fruition. The latest surrounds a couple things: the In-Game XMB for the PS3, plus the supposedly imminent launch of PlayStation Home.
Sony has been staying silent on these rumors, especially the one where an insider says we can expect Home to launch very very soon. We've been wondering if any new details will pop up at this week's Game Developers Conference, but one Sony representative said we really shouldn't hold our breaths. Over at the official PlayStation blog, Jeff Rubinstein has said- "It’s a developer’s conference, not hardware or firmware, so no announcements on that front this week." Furthermore, in specific response to that "very very soon" rumor regarding PlayStation Home-
"If by “VERY soon” you mean this week - debunked. I see the same rumors, and they’re just that - rumors. Literally 95% of what I’ve read this week is just groundless speculation. But hey, that’s the game biz."
Well, okay. So it's not coming this week, but then again, we didn't really expect Home to launch in February. We notice he didn't say anything about March or April, which would also qualify as "very soon," so maybe we should hope for that. Either way, though, it seems Sony won't be unveiling anything new on either Home or In-Game XMB at the GDC.

Badraido.. Would you be saing that PSXextreme should be called the wishfulthingofps3.com? I like to think that one of Psxe's strong points is the ability to discuss rumours and not get carried away with them, unlike other 'big' sites.
There is usually no smoke without fire, and we are big strong people here with heads on our shoulders that know that these are rumours and treat them as such.
News is news, if it be true or not, its well worth reporting imo!! As long as its dealt with in such a manner that its not told to us as fact when its not, and I cant think of a single moment where Psxe has done that.
Shame that 90% of industry news is rumour until right at the last second when it can go either way, lol.
