FFXIII Delayed Until 2010 Rumor: Baseless
Sometimes, we gamers get a little impatient when it comes to hotly anticipated titles. However, it's easy to blow things out of proportion, and that's exactly what's happening with the latest rumor centering on Final Fantasy XIII.
This rumor is particularly nasty, as it says FFXIII might actually be delayed until 2010, and some people are starting to apply the "vaporware" label to Square-Enix's next-gen RPG. Kotaku points us in the direction of Japanese stock news site Trader's Web, where they have predicted the game's delay, and therefore, the Internet is a-buzz with this decidedly negative possibility. The entire scenario is ridiculous. First of all, this game never once had an official release date, although it was initially estimated to arrive towards the end of last year. But even then, most never believed it would make it by then, and Square-Enix has yet to issue any concrete date. Furthermore, if we continue to adopt the "no news is bad news" philosophy, then just about every big title that's a ways off will immediately become "vaporware." Anybody who sees even the smallest resemblance between Final Fantasy XIII and Duke Nukem Forever needs to buy an extra brain cell or two.
FFXIII is coming. You can count on that. It may not arrive until 2010 - as unlikely as that may seem - but there is absolutely zero evidence to support that theory. This is the worst kind of rumor, because it's mired in a baseless prediction with no real evidence behind it. Therefore, we say, if you see this "FFXIII delayed until 2010!" nonsense flying around, just ignore it. It's not worth your time.

Hopefully it won't take 13 just as long to debut, and if it does stand a chance of coming out this year, and probably late at that, it's going to be the Japanese version obviously - to my knowledge, no FF has had a simultaneous world wide release - so the earliest us English speaking folk would get our hands on it is 2009.

Theres only certain times in gaming history where only one game will be released that week because there is no point in competing.
Halo, MGS, GTA, GT and Final Fantasy. not many games will command such attention.
so yeh, lets face it come 2010 there will be FFIV on the cards!!

Final Fantasy XIII
