First Motorstorm 2 Details from Sony
BBC News writer, Darren Waters, has posted a blog entry talking about his recent trip to Sony Computer Entertainment's London offices where he was shown a number of games, one of which was Motorstorm 2. Sony has recently made the announcement of a sequel official, but this is the first word of it actually being playable - so we hope screenshots and a trailer will come to us soon.  Waters stated that the game looked beautiful, and has shied away from the brown-palette desert locale, to a tropical, lush environment on an island, complete with foliage and all sorts of vivid vegetation. It seems like Motorstorm 2 will be taking their visual-scenic cues from the Sega Rally franchise, and that's a damn good thing - there's nothing like seeing tropical environments in HD, consider us excited! Overall, Waters says that the sequel looks "impressive" and the game engine was "rock solid".
Moreover, Waters was told that multiplayer will continue to be a large focus of the game, and this time the sequel will feature a four-player offline split-screen mode, which should appease many. Finally, the launch window is currently set for a release in time for Christmas, so look for it around the end of November.
Stay posted as we'll bring you more info and media on Motorstorm 2 as we get it.
