Overlord Officially for PlayStation 3, Enhanced Port
We've known that Overlord would eventually arrive onto the PlayStation 3 - I've personally been adding screenshots of the game in our gallery - it was just a question of when. A few days back, Big Ben (Dutka, that is) reported on Overlord, previously an Xbox 360 and PC title, arriving to the PS3. The news bit, while concrete, wasn't official. But that changes today. Codemasters has announced that they will be bringing Overlord to the PlayStation 3, and they've pegged it for a Summer 2008 release date.  Now, we weren't certain if the game would be just a port or not, but the official announcement clarifies that: and it's not a straight port. The PlayStation 3 version will feature all of the expansion/add-on content of the original into one package. The PlayStation 3 package will carry the subtitle "Raising Hell", so as to set the game apart from its brethren just a bit.
But additional content isn't all the PS3 version gets. In addition, Overlord: Raising Hell will sport enhanced visuals, 7.1 surround sound support, gameplay fixes and refinements, such as the inclusion of an on-screen mini-map. Features such as the game's online co-op modes will carry on into the PlayStation 3 version, as well. As mentioned earlier, look for Overlord to hit Summer 2008. Keep your eyes peeled for a preview.
