PlayStation 3 to Feature Head Tracking Technology
You motion sensor controllers were the wave of the future? Well, as soon as Sony makes their head-tracking technology official for the PlayStation 3, all of that will mean absolutely nothing. Stephen Totilo over at MTV Multiplayer (MTV's videogame site) put up a video of him demonstrating this exact technology on a PlayStation 3 at last week's Game Developers Conference. In the video, Totilo moves his head around and the PlayStation 3 Eye-Toy follows his every motion, and also displays the tracking parameters, showing you just how the camera performs its technique. It's extremely impressive to watch, and it will likely end up being used in first person shooters initially, with other genres following suit.
What's more is that this doesn't require any complicated hardware to wear or install, just plug in the PlayStation 3 Eye Toy camera, face it towards yourself and that's it. Take a look at the video embedded below. Now the wait for the official announcement.

really stange, because they shouldnt be! seems that Sony pushing the Eye of J means no one is getting the normal stand alone pseye.. I had to import mine just to get one. Play and Amazon always out of stock, and not one shop in my town (we have 10 potential gaming shops) have even seen a PsEye this year in stock.
Anyway, I love it, its a great piece of kit, just wating for something like this motion sensor built in to games to make this a must have toy.
