Disgaea 3 Officially Coming To US
While most US fans of the series believed they'd be getting the next installment in the highly esteemed Disgaea franchise, we had no idea if it would break Japan's boundaries...until now.
NIS America has officially announced that Disgaea 3 will be making its way to North America, and it will arrive some time in August 2008. According to IGN, NIS said it "makes a bold new step towards the next generation console with a whole new cast, story and game system." This is one franchise that specializes in insane strategy/role-playing depth (as fans of the series are well aware), as features like Transmigration, the Item World and Geo Panels makes these titles infinitely enjoyable for fans of the genre. It's pure turn-based - time isn't an issue for ally or enemy units - and that means you can take as much time as you wish in selecting your position and action. But with the sheer number of units you can have on the battlefield at any given time, coupled with the inherent depth of the gameplay, Disgaea has always been capable of delivering a mind-busting experience.
While no other details were provided, NIS promised we'd be seeing plenty of new info "in the coming months." We'll let you know when that becomes available.
