Heavy Rain Will Leave You "Speechless?"
Quantic Dream has been keeping a tight lid on their mysterious next-gen project, Heavy Rain. But the makers of Indigo Prophecy, a great, atmospheric adventure title from the last generation, may have something pretty amazing up their talented sleeves.
The latest rumor, started by Surfer Girl, is one that will be most encouraging for gamers. Here's the comment in question that has been zipping around the Internet like wildfire-
"I don't mean to be a tease - all I can say is that I was left speechless. If the footage I was shown truly is "in game", as told to me by the Sony PR people, then we could be on the brink of a step change in what games consoles are capable of in terms of story-telling and immersion."
Surfer Girl believes this game is Heavy Rain. Evidently, the characters are incredibly realistic - they will often hesitate before speaking, they move accurately, etc. - and the writing is absolutely top-notch. Granted, you'd have to be a fan of Indigo Prophecy to really appreciate something like Heavy Rain, but hey...who isn't a fan of IP? Well, there are probably a few of you out there, and if you're in that minority, you should probably seek your entertainment elsewhere. But for everyone else, you should be excited. We haven't heard anything all that concrete regarding this potential "AAA" title, but so far, we've heard nothing but awfully encouraging rumors that pique our interest at every turn. Video game excellence, and something that leaves us "speechless," is a project we want to learn more about.
We'll be searching around for more details concerning Heavy Rain, and we'd love to clarify if that comment really is talking about Quantic Dream's upcoming production. When and if we do, we'll be sure to let you know.
