PS3 News: GTAIV Boasts 100 Hours Of Gameplay

GTAIV Boasts 100 Hours Of Gameplay

Gamers are always looking to get the most out of their purchase, and sometimes, they get a little frustrated when they buy a game that lasts for only five hours or so. Well, how do you feel about a game that's 20 times longer than that?

It seems Rockstar has told VideoGamer.com that it will take a colossal 100 hours for a player to fully complete Grand Theft Auto IV...well, if you take your time. A Rockstar spokesperson issued the time estimation when VideoGamer visited London's HQ for a hands-on with the game.

"If you're not in a rush and you answer the phone when it rings it'll take about 100 hours to complete", the spokesperson said. "It's harder to distinguish between main and side missions - there are loads of both. But there are more main missions than side missions. It's not as clear cut as it used to be because of the phone."

The phone, you say? Yes, the main character's cell phone is used to call NPCs; you will land jobs, secure hot dates, and even arrange drinking sessions with your trusty phone. Supposedly, we will also use the phone to access the multiplayer phase of GTAIV, but we have no further details on that at this time. Still, just knowing the game is ultra-lengthy is a definite plus, right?

That's what I always liked about GTA! The side-missions always added extra value and challenge to the game and I'm glad there's lots of them in GTAIV.

Wow! Finally, someone broke the trend of short games. Well worth the money, and good fun. Let's hope its smooth sailings till the release date for both systems.

Assuming its not going to be horribly edited it'll be a decent game. I thought the GTA's were sorta getting by each installment :-\

This is great and all, but how the HELL are they going to fit 100 Hours of gameplay on a DVD disc for the xbox? The physics of that are basically impossible are they not?
