Rumor: No Bioshock For PS3, But Crysis Hits This Winter
A couple days ago, UK gaming magazine PSW said it was "no secret" that Crysis is coming to the PS3. This came as a surprise to many, especially after Crytek claiming this would never happen. However, even more evidence has surfaced today, and it comes as part of a look forward to this year's E3.
According to GameGuru, Crysis will hit the PlayStation 3 "this winter," with an Xbox 360 version to follow on an unannounced date. No source was cited in the brief pre-E3 rundown, but we'd like to think this information was taken from somewhere reliable. In addition, they apparently have info that says Bioshock 2 will not be a multiplatform title. Evidently, Microsoft paid "big bucks" to keep the sequel exclusive to the 360, which isn't exactly shocking after Bioshock's immense success late last year. This will disappoint many a PS3 owner, though; most were probably hoping 2K Boston would include the PS3 with their next project.
There's also some news regarding Gears of War 2, the existence of a "Flash" DC Superhero project for multiple platforms, and Retro Studios supposedly working on a first-person installment in the Legend of Zelda series. But the big news here is Crysis for the PlayStation 3. This is the second time in only a few days that "confirmations" have started to hit the Internet, so is it only a matter of time before Crytek makes the official announcement...? Stay tuned to find out.
