SCEA Confirms PSN April Makeover
According to Gamasutra and SCEA's director of product development, it seems we'll be seeing "a pretty big change in the PlayStation Network in the early part of April."
This rumor began during a retailer-only presentation, where Sony evidently showed off a new Video Store and announced plans to overhaul the Network. Sony didn't really confirm this, but SCEA's John Hight has provided us with a confirmation of his own:
"We give [Sony's PSN team] a lot of feedback based on how our customers are reacting to things, and I think you will see a pretty big change in the PlayStation Network in the early part of April, where we roll out some new interface stuff largely based on customer feedback."
Hight didn't really get into specifics, but he did mention something about "simplification," and "making it easier to find stuff that you want to find." The Network and Store have undergone a series of upgrades and enhancements since the launch of the PlayStation 3, and each one has helped to bring Sony's online program ever closer to Microsoft's Xbox Live. As of now, the only thing that separates the two are a few minor bells and whistles, and Sony should be implementing those soon, too. We'll let you know when (and if) concrete details arrive regarding this Network makeover.
