Episodic Content For GTAIV PS3 In 2009?
Sometimes, when a specific platform isn't mentioned, it can actually turn out to be a good thing for owners of that platform. No, really...we're not going insane just yet.
During Take-Two's most recently released financial statement, they said we can expect more episodic content for Grand Theft Auto IV in 2009. This news came along with the first official confirmation of 2K Marin's Bioshock 2, which, according to recent rumors about Microsoft paying big bucks for the exclusive rights, may not arrive on the PS3. But you may notice that Take-Two isn't singling out any one console with the following quote regarding future episodic content:
“We also have significant visibility into fiscal 2009, which includes additional episodic content for Grand Theft Auto IV, Mafia II, Borderlands’, BioShock 2, our complete sports lineup, additional Nick Jr. titles under our agreement with Nickelodeon, and several new brands,” said Take-Two CEO Ben Feder. Feder did say that episodic content for the Xbox 360 was "cooked-in" for 2008, but that's it. Hence, with no mention of the PS3 in the aforementioned statement, most are already starting to speculate that Rockstar will be providing additional content for the PS3 version of GTAIV in 2009. Chances are, this is probably true, as most experts didn't anticipate the 360 version getting all the bonus content. Could this be an official hint that the PS3 GTAIV will have episodic content next year? We'd like to think so.
