Public Home Beta Test Hits This Month?
See Full ImageWe continue to hear rumors about a possible public beta test for Sony's PlayStation Home online service for the PlayStation 3; a closed beta has been going on in the UK for quite a while. And according to recent reports, it seems the public test may arrive in North America as early as this month!
According to dbtechno.com, members over at the official PlayStation forums are being told to link their forum accounts with their PlayStation Network account in preparation for the public beta. Evidently, this information has already gone out to European gamers via e-mail, and this e-mail is expected to head to gamers in the US as well. This message tells users they must link their PSN account name to their PSN user ID before March 16, 2008. Last month, the rumor that Home would be entering a public beta in March thrived, even though Sony wasn't about to issue any announcements at the time. Of course, they're still mute on the subject, but with so many sources indicating a public beta will become a reality soon enough...well, we're gettin' pretty excited.
If it is real, and if the beta really does become available this month, we'd expect plenty of information to arrive within the next week or so. How to sign up (and who can sign up) should be the first bit of info, for example. So stay tuned for any updates!
