MGS4 Pricing Details For Japan, Steel PS3 Featured
Well, Konami is good to their word: they promised Japanese gamers would get a special PlayStation 3 model with the release of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, and the latest edition of Famitsu confirms this promise.
The new PS3 model that comes bundled with the game is the Japanese Premium Pack and the machine (and controller) is an original steel color, known as "Hagane" in Japanese. On top of this, Famitsu released the full pricing details for MGS4, which releases worldwide on June 12. The game by itself will retail for 8,800 yen, which is pretty pricey for a PS3 title; big-time releases typically cost about 7,800 yen. The Special Edition will sell for 9,800 yen, and if you're wondering, all the content from this collectors set will be included in the Premium Pack, which will retail for 51,800 yen. Yes, everything seems to be on the higher side, but then again, we are talking about MGS4.
As usual, Japan gets another cool color for a video game console - the PSP is now available in like 712 different colors over there - but we are hoping to see a silver PS3 in the US soon. The Ceramic White PS3 should be on the way, but the more colors, the better!
