Ubisoft's Official Haze Stance: Exclusive To PS3 "For Now"
Conflicting reports are annoying, aren't they, dear reader? Don't worry, they're annoying for us, too.
A couple days ago, we learned that a Ubisoft representative had evidently let it slip that Haze would forever be a PlayStation 3 exclusive. However, according to CVG today, the publisher's official stance is that the upcoming FPS is exclusive to the PS3 "for now." Obviously, this doesn't necessarily mean Haze will never come to another platform, but at this moment in time, it seems Free Radical is only focusing on a PS3 version. We've gone 'round and 'round in circles on this ever since last fall, when it was initially scheduled for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Only recently have we heard the developers may have shifted their focus to center squarely on Sony's console, and Ubisoft remains a bit dodgy on the issue.
"For now" does mean the game is currently exclusive to the PS3, but it also implies that "forever" isn't accurate. We don't like being forced to interpret cryptic messages, but then again, Ubisoft is probably telling the truth. Maybe they're just waiting to see how the game fares on the PS3 before making any further announcements for other platforms...?
