Home To Make Appearance At Virtual Worlds Conference
PlayStation Home is starting to pop up all over the place, which could mean the official launch isn't far off.
The next venue Home will visit is the upcoming Virtual Worlds Conference, which takes place April 3-4 in New York City. Evidence of Home's inclusion in the event's proceedings come courtesy of this discovery, which shows the following under the schedule for the "Marketing and Entertainment in Virtual Worlds" seminar:
The Evolution of Games and Social Networks: Virtual Worlds Everywhere. With the planned introduction of Sony's Home for the PlayStation3 and multiple virtual worlds providers now creating widgets for Facebook, Bebo, and other social networks, we're seeing virtual worlds reach out to every part of the Web and consumer life. This session offers a detailed understanding of how virtual worlds are taking advantage of these emerging distribution formats and how you can leverage Virtual Worlds Everywhere.
Furthermore, one of the featured speakers is Susan Panico, Senior Director, PlayStation Network, SCEA. Her job description includes leading "the team responsible for creating a dynamic hub for online and digital entertainment delivery services for the company." This includes PlayStation.com, the PlayStation Store, and yes, PlayStation Home. Now, could we be seeing some big announcements for Home next month at ION? That's what we're really wondering, so stay tuned, because this service may be closer than we think!
