What you're looking at here represents great news for avid fans of Metal Gear Solid. These are the very special Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots 7.1 channel headphones. These bad boys have the same steel finish as the limited edition PlayStation 3 that Japanese gamers will receive with the MGS4 bundle package.

Unfortunately, all good collectibles are often tough to come by, and these headphones are no exception. According to Konami's online store (Konnamistyle) and QJ.net, it seems only 30 of these MGS4-branded headphones will be handed out randomly to those who buy the MGS4 bundle from Konamistyle. Furthermore, you have to pre-order the bundle, and it has to be done before June 1 (the game's release is set for June 12). Essentially, this is all about luck, so if you really want one, you'll have to live in Japan and take your chances by purchasing the MGS4 bundle. As for gamers here in North America, we'd like to think Konami would give us the same treatment - with a few more headphones to go around - but we're not holding our breath. We don't seem to be getting that special PS3 MGS4 package, now do we?

But you can always hope, MGS fans. Konami has to understand their blockbuster franchise is plenty huge over here, too, so maybe Sony will make a few more of those super limited headphones and send them our way. We'll let you know if they decide to do that, but if they don't, you can view from afar and hope...
