Guerilla Won't "Confirm Or Deny" Killzone 2 Release Date
Yesterday, the floodgates broke wide open on release news for the likes of Killzone 2, Resistance 2 and LittleBigPlanet. According to a leaked release schedule from Sony Computer Entertainment UK, LBP and Killzone 2 would release in September while Resistance 2 would launch in November.
However, considering the info wasn't official, we figured at least one of the development teams from the preceding three titles would step up to say, "not so fast." The first to do that is Guerilla, who says they haven't announced anything, and we should take any release dates (or estimates) "with a grain of salt." Guerilla's Seb "MotherH" Downie posted the following at the official PlayStation message boards:
"Sorry folks, as before, please take any release dates, or months with a grain of salt. If we haven't announced it, it is not gospel."
However, let's be clear about this: as another team member - EON - said in the same topic, Guerilla isn't exactly denying the release date. They're simply not confirming it. Here's what he added to Seb's post:
"I was concerned because Motherh's comment could be interpreted as a firm 'no' - when the truth is that we CANNOT CONFIRM OR DENY a release date. Until the Community Team liaison for Killzone2 hears from the Killzone 2 marketing contact that it's time to release the date."
Ah, well, that gives us hope again. Perhaps the date is realistic but they just haven't gotten to a point where they can officially announce the date. After all, a September release wouldn't be out of the question, especially considering recent updates we've heard... We'll be sure to keep you posted, and we'll let you know when Guerilla decides to "confirm or deny" that date.
