New Interface For Redesigned PS Store
As you all know by now, the PlayStation Store is undergoing a major overhaul over the next couple of weeks. However, you may be in the dark regarding specifics, so we've found a few interesting details from Ripten regarding the new interface.
Leading up to this process, Sony has said they wanted to use customer feedback to help redesign the Store (as evidenced by the user poll they issued in the UK). Hence, we'll be looking at a more user-friendly interface when the new Store is revealed in a few weeks time. Navigation of the content will be easier, there will be more space allotted on each page to list items, and the standard web interface will disappear. Rather than maneuvering the arrow around in a Windows-style format, we'll explore the Store in a menu format. Last but not least, the interface will embed itself into the PlayStation 3 for faster loading, which is definitely a big bonus. In fact, according to info recently posted at the official PlayStation blog, the Store will "dynamically change each time you enter."
You'll be able to partake of the new design before tax time is over, and you should be happy with what you see. Also, when the new Store is unveiled, firmware update 2.30 will come right along with it, and of course, the weekly updates will return as well. The Store is going to get a lot better, very quickly!
