Dual Shock 3 Shipping To Stores Now

We've been without the rumble for a while now, but Sony will soon be remedying that malady: the Dual Shock 3 controller for the PlayStation 3 is currently on its way to retail stores across North America for sale next week. This according to the official announcement over at the PlayStation blog, which was mostly dedicated to telling us the titles that will be compatible with the new force feedback controller.

You can check out the current list for yourself, and you'll probably be satisfied to see a goodly array of games on the page. The ones with the asterisk require a patch to activate the rumble feature, which will be automatically downloaded if your PS3 is online. Perhaps best of all, Sony will be launching a new page on the PlayStation website some time today that will keep a running and updated list of all the titles compatible with the Dual Shock 3. Obviously, more and more games will support the rumble in the future, so you can expect that list to grow in size rather quickly.

We still don't get the allure of the force feedback, but millions of others do, and that's what matters. Sony has brought it back, and while it may not be white like the one pictured here (although it's not entirely out of the question), the rumble has officially returned. The gamers spoke, and Sony listened; plain and simple.

Okay, that's great.

But when in hell is it gonna arrive in Europe?

We always get this stuff last.

And then I mean LAST! :/

This is the one thing about Sony that I really dont like. Everything is a marketing scam.

I live in england and so I own europe PS3. However I imported a dualshock 3 from asia at the beggining of this year (from a very familier auction site... you the one I mean. And it didnt cost anymore than a sixaxis would normally! I would reccomend it!) Anyway it worked absolutly fine. Even more to my amazement my PS3 was running the version of the firmware that it shipped with (which I persume was version 1) becuase I haddent hooked it up to the internet yet.

This really just proved to me that staggering the release of the sixaxis was just a marketing scam so they can hype up the attention when they release it in each different region. And if you want my honest opinion, I would say that sony had planned not to orginally realease the PS3 with the dualshock3 controller beacuise they realsed they could make more money that way, as consumers (myself included) will shell out the extra cash to pay for new controllers.

I could very well believe that Sony would do that - if a company can make money - they go for it.

I want that friggin controller.

We still don't get the allure of the force feedback, but millions of suckers do. DualShock is useless I've never even seen a woman get this excited over a vibrator.
