Dual Shock 3 Shipping To Stores Now
We've been without the rumble for a while now, but Sony will soon be remedying that malady: the Dual Shock 3 controller for the PlayStation 3 is currently on its way to retail stores across North America for sale next week. This according to the official announcement over at the PlayStation blog, which was mostly dedicated to telling us the titles that will be compatible with the new force feedback controller.
You can check out the current list for yourself, and you'll probably be satisfied to see a goodly array of games on the page. The ones with the asterisk require a patch to activate the rumble feature, which will be automatically downloaded if your PS3 is online. Perhaps best of all, Sony will be launching a new page on the PlayStation website some time today that will keep a running and updated list of all the titles compatible with the Dual Shock 3. Obviously, more and more games will support the rumble in the future, so you can expect that list to grow in size rather quickly.
We still don't get the allure of the force feedback, but millions of others do, and that's what matters. Sony has brought it back, and while it may not be white like the one pictured here (although it's not entirely out of the question), the rumble has officially returned. The gamers spoke, and Sony listened; plain and simple.
