The Bourne Conspiracy Set For June
The movie trilogy was massively popular, and we're hoping the game adaptation will be just as entertaining. We'll find out soon enough, as GameSpot has confirmed that The Bourne Conspiracy will release in North America on June 3 and in Europe on June 27. It will be available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Developed by High Moon Studios, this action/adventure title will boast all kinds of exciting gameplay elements: intense hand-to-hand combat, spectacular car chases, engaging third-person shooter elements and what they're calling "dramatic escapes." Obviously, we'll be stepping into the shoes of the elite government-trained amnesiac, Jason Bourne, and we embark on an adventure that encompasses Robert Ludlum's entire story. One interesting note in that GameSpot article centers on the process of creating the melee battle system; it was co-designed by Jeff Imada, who was choreographer for all the Bourne movies.
Remember, this game isn't necessarily based on any one of those movies; The Bourne Conspiracy is more about never-before-seen plot elements, even though it does include sequences from the films. Therefore, we're hoping this won't be another awful game based on a movie...we're actually hoping for something more like Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, but perhaps that's setting the bar too high.
