No Metal Gear Online Beta For Europe?
Metal Gear OnlineIf you're a European gamer, you might be a bit miffed by what we're about to say. However, before you get all bent out of shape, please remember that you are currently playing Gran Turismo 5: Prologue and we here in the US are not. See, that's a bonus, right?
That probably is small solace to MGS fans, though, as it seems the Metal Gear Online beta won't be available in the UK. According to MetalGearSolid.net and several major UK retailers (GAME, Woolworths, GameStation, etc.), nobody seems to have any information on the beta, which is supposed to drop soon. In the US, those who pre-ordered Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots are getting a beta code to allow them access to the MGO beta. We believe this started in April, but no such offer seems to be coming to the UK or the rest of Europe. You can pre-order MGS4, but that's about all you can do, apparently.
However, it's still early, so maybe there's still a chance. At this point, it doesn't seem likely, but you never know... We're wondering if Konami will clarify things before the week is out; they might just confirm the beta is coming, but they'll go about securing testers in a different way. ...we're just grasping at straws, I know. Sorry, guys.

And that GT5p remark doesn't make the situation any better. So the UK got one good thing before anywhere else. Id like to see that happen again.
