Amazon Reveals Metal Gear Online Box Art, Release Date

As any MGS fan knows by now, there will soon be a beta test for Metal Gear Online, and you can secure a spot by pre-ordering Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Provided there are spaces left, this gets you a log-in code for the beta, and we're certain many anxious fans of the franchise have already done this.

But what has remained a mystery is the final release date for MGO, which is supposed to be "later this year." Well, in these situations, it's usually a good idea to hit up retailers to see what they know. And after checking Amazon.com, it appears we have both the box art and the date...although neither can be considered official, of course. Check out the listing here, and you'll see both the box and that November 15, 2008 date of release. This certainly seems plausible, but until we hear anything from Sony or Konami, we can't exactly say it's a conrete fact.

As the year progresses, we expect to hear a lot more about Metal Gear Online, and that includes feedback from those involved in the beta. Konami is usually pretty good about keeping us up-to-date with anything MGS-related, so we're expecting all kinds of updates over the next few months. So let's hope this date gets confirmed soon!
