PSN Update Times Solidified For US
Every PS3 owner should already be aware of the PlayStation Store upgrade, although we haven't had any confirmed US details until today. According to PS3 Vault, the final dates and times of the Store have been confirmed, and you can now set your calendars.
The system software update will follow the finished and new-look Store, and both will arrive on April 14 in the US. That be today, people. The upgrade will run between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. PST, and during that span of time, both the Store and the Network will be inaccessible. Once everything is done after 11, you will be prompted to download the required software update, and everything should be good to go. For this kind of revamp and enhancement, we figure the downtime is more than acceptable; we can live without the PSN for a day, right? All you online buffs can take some time and play through a single-player campaign of your choosing, and we promise you'll have a good time. Can't spend your lives in online multiplayer, or eventually, that's all we'll have.
We're wondering what we'll see in terms of content on the new Store, because they will have missed a couple of weeks of updates. Typically, we see a content update every Thursday, but while they're working on this project, no fresh content will be added. So...does that mean we can expect one colossal update when everything is all said and done? Let's hope so.
