Will Europe Get Special Gunmetal PS3?

If you've been following our detailed coverage of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and are aware of all the product details, you know the US is getting the Limited Edition Gunmetal Gray PS3. It's coming in celebration of the MGS4 launch on June 12, and the initial announcement said-

“We are confirming that there will be a North America offering of this VERY, VERY Limited Edition bundle! This is the “gunmetal grey” PS3 – the one seen selling out in a matter of moments in Japan at the KonamiStyle web store,” said SCEA. “Stay tuned for more details on this exciting product!”

Now, the Videogaming247 blog has stated that SCEE is waiting to hear if Europe will also get this sweet LE PS3. When SCEA says "very, very" limited, though, we worry that our European friends might not be so lucky. The only official word on the issue from SCEE is as follows:

“I’ve asked if we’re getting this but have yet to have an answer confirmed,” said a rep.

Well, June isn't that far off, so they're going to have to come up with an answer relatively soon. MGS4 is going to be gigantic in every region, so it would only make sense to make this snazzy new PS3 available in Europe as well as the US and Japan. But Sony can be a little erratic when it comes to PAL territories, as you well know... We'll keep you posted.
