PSN Update Complete, Firmware 2.30 Ready
Some of you have probably already noticed, but the long-awaited upgrade to the PlayStation Store has been completed, and firmware update 2.30 is ready to go.
The update localizes the Store so that it's no longer HTML-based - as intended by the overhaul - and this will allow faster access to the Store and Network. Only after you download this update will you be able to peruse the new Store, so get moving 'cuz this one's a little large. Also don't forget that update 2.30 includes DTS-HD High Resolution and Master audio for Blu-Ray movies, which is a very nice addition to your home entertainment setup. Here's a brief description again in case you missed it earlier:
"DTS-HD Master Audio is literally bit-for-bit identical to the studio master recording and makes movie soundtracks and sound effects truly come to life. The technology delivers audio at the incredibly high rate of 24.5 mega-bits per second (Mbps) on Blu-ray disc, which is significantly higher than standard DVDs. DTS-HD Master Audio also offers 7.1 audio channels at 96k sampling frequency/24 bit depths, so you’ll be totally immersed in the sound. The firmware update will add DTS-HD High Resolution Audio as well, which is a similar output technology that requires less disc space."
Well, what are you waiting for? Hop on to the PS3 (make sure it's Internet-ready, of course), and download the update. Once that's done, you know you want to check out the new-look Store...it's sweet!

Just curious if anyone else has an issue with updating their PS3 over the Internet. It seems to take almost 30-40mins for me. When I download larger updates over XBox Live it is done in 10mins. I have had my PS3 since November 06 and every time I download ANYTHING through PS3; demo, update, patch; they all take a ridiculously long time.
Anyone have any ideas?

I assume that we can download it to a small USB drive and install it that way... Am I correct?
Thanks
