MGO Beta Available On Store Now?
As most of you are well aware, the beta testing for Metal Gear Online won't begin until Monday (April 21), but it seems some users over at the official PlayStation forums are saying you can download the beta right now.
Apparently, it's a matter of having either a 9-digit or 12-digit beta code, and that may be the difference between downloading now or Monday. If you're one of the lucky ones who secured a spot in the beta by pre-ordering Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, you can give it a try by going through the relatively simple process. First, just go into Account Management and Transaction Management, then select "Redeem PlayStation Network Card Or Promo Code," and enter the code you have. If it works, you will start downloading the beta, even though the servers don't go up until Monday. Without any doubt, this is going to be one of the biggest beta tests anybody has ever seen, so it's no surprise to see a lot of eager beavers. Konami hasn't said anything besides confirming the April 21 start date, so at the very least, you get to start testing in a few days time.
If you've managed to download the beta and have any details you wish to add, feel free to leave a comment below. We'll update the story if necessary, but this is all we know for the time being.

The Beta is 741 MB in size and takes the average user about 30 minutes to an hour to download. From there (after installation) you will be allowed to boot up and into "Metal Gear Online Premiere B." The Function inside, as of April 16th, is limited to "Start Game" and "Trailer." The "Trailer" feature shows a cool video of a bit of online play, mostly cinematic scenes rather than actual footage.
Now, onto the juicy part... well sort of. After clicking the "Start Game" button you are Prompted by Terms of Service followed by patch 1.01 (If this is your first time logging on). You are able to choose from the achingly slow Peer2Peer patch option or the less reliable, but rather fast HTTP patch. Personally opted for the second when the first practically died 18% in.
After the patch is installed you must restart the game. Afterward you will boot it up again, load in the patch and pass through the "Start Game." You will then pass the ToS and head into an area that asks whether you have a Konami Registration, if you do then you are golden. If you don't well you'll be waiting in line for Konami to fix their servers, as the server crashed from overuse. Once this account has been set up you can then relax for a couple days and then hop right in on the 21st!

There you are with all the gory details!
Enjoy guys.

Ben, I do have to state that there isn't an issue with people have priority over others with the number of digits in their codes, but rather invalid codes in general. Many people have contacted both Sony and Konami and both have assured that they know of the issue and are attempting to fix it.
Cheers mate, hope this helps your quest for information!
